phase two: final phase

this is a brief glimpse of the final painting i think i got the sand dunes down but if anyone like to point out critiques it is most obliged for i could use some right now

turtle city

this is just the first phase of the new project I'm working on as a late birthday present I've only took the rough painting of what I'm generally looking for than i just penned out everything: lighting, surface, colors for the dunes.

Amazing classic animation

This is a line test shot from the original drawings by Bill Tytla of Stromboli from Pinochio. Tytla is still regarded as one of the finest animators the industry has produced and this was almost 70 years ago. Tytla also animated Chernabog in Fantasia, another amazing piece of animation.

New portrait

Here's an updated self-portrait. Spent a little more time on it than the last one, and I'm pretty pleased with the results. I kind of like the unfinished look of the neck and body.

Summer Job

Hey, here's a sample of what I'm doing over the summer. The hardest part is cutting and keying (making the pieces work together) so that they can be molded and casts made. I'll post more process stuff on my blog if anyone is interested.

trooper part 2

jsut another version of my swamp trooper but a completely different theme but same idea and A SHITLOAD OF LINES

Remember the first background painting?

So some of you may already know, but I have to retake digital tools in the summer. I've just finished with the clean-up and colour of the background assignment again, and I think it's cool how far I've come in terms of my painting skills.

The first time: Rape van

The second time: Milky-way Desert

I kind of surprised myself. But anyway... yeah, that's my update.

for those who need help blending!

hey austin, alright since you keep saying to people that they have to show you, i was doodling this morning and decided to try and demonstrate this with a quick sketch. Forget the drawing its awful, but i just wanted to show you the process in which to flesh out tones and bring some more clarity to your drawings. if you apply your wicked colour knowledge to a method like this (doesnt have to be this) you would really notice the difference in your work!
Good luck man, hope this helps, and is what you wanted to know

1st year animation

Here's three final animation assignments from myself (Christien), Matt and Nicole.

First up is my final animation assignment, unfortunately I didn't have time to finish the final sequence (floating down on the unbrella):

Nicole's incredible disapearing sack:

Last but not least...Matt Barry's "Sack in a box":

I think everyone from our class' animation turned out really well. It's crazy how far we moved on from where we started last semester.
